Stop by the shop and sign up or reserve space via phone or web site. March 6, Saturday 11:30-3:30 p.m. Do you love the metal elements with exotic, abstract or cute images on them? In this class you will learn how to put those images on metal by etching with Ferric Chloride. Come to class with three or four images sketched and we will put them on to metal. After etching you will cut the etched piece out, finish and refine it and you can wear it home. Sound like fun? |

Here is your chance to try a variety of metalsmithing tools and techniques and walk out of class with a very stylish necklace to show off to the world. The tools will be made available for you to make all of the components in the center portion of the necklace which you will then attach to chain. The components are formed by using a disc cutting tool and you will learn to make your own jump rings. Lots of learning and lots of fun in this class. |

If we have time we will sneak in a couple of other beaded beads, but our concentration will be the Plum Blossom. This is a good thing. The Plum Blossom can be made in so many different ways that it could . . . take up all of the two sessions. Come join me in my passion for beaded beads! |

March 25, Thursday, 4:30-7-30 p.m. There will be a quick review of the Plum Blossom bead that we've grown to love and then we will embellish that basic bead. I've been researching and inventing some new ways to extend the Plum Blossom, as wonderful as it is, to new degrees of extravagance. We will get approximately four to five beads finished during class. The embellishment is time consuming so you will finish some of the embellishment at home This is a fast paced class. You will learn as many embellishments and patterns as time permits. |

You will be using a variety of metalsmithing tools while making all of the components. Some chain will be added to create a stunning linked statement necklace. The washer links will be formed by using a disc cutting tool and you will learn to make your own jumprings. All in all a fun time hammering. Oh, and it really is a puzzle to put together. |

Stop by the shop and sign up or reserve space via phone or web site. April 1 , Thursday, 5-7:30 p.m. We will explore different attachments and balance while creating a look of tumbling chaos in the central feature for a necklace. To avoid getting frustrated in this class, you need to feel comfortable with a basic wire wrap, because this class involves a lots of wire wrapping techniques. Be on the look out for great leaves, flowers and drops to include in your focal cascade. You can finish a necklace like this with chain or a strung beaded length. |

April 6 , Tuesday, 5-7:30 p.m. Let's take a filigree element, that is beautiful all by it's self and cover, drip, drop and encrust it with beads and more beads. Using wire wrapping techniques, you will learn the ins and outs of attaching beads to the filigree. This will be your chance to get really creative with bead size, balance and color. |

May 13 , Thursday, 4-8 p.m. You will learn to hammer out the circular parts, both washers and charms, make jump rings for connections and do wire wrapping to add the embellishment and charms. While learning great metalsmithing skills you will be making a fashionable charm style bracelet. The sheet metal necessary for the project will be available in class. Please bring round nose and chain nose pliers and wire cutters of your own to class. This will be an opportunity to use a number of metal working tools and explore their possibilities. Get rid of some of those aggressions and beat on some metal! |

Stop by the shop and sign up or reserve space via phone or web site. May 16 , Sunday, 12-4 p.m. Do you love the look of a cuff bracelet, but don't like how heavy they are? This bracelet solves that problem. Light as a feather, it's almost like wearing air, only way pretty. In this project you will be doing several jewelry techniques; metal work, beading and wire work. You will create the toggle in metal, bead the ladder rungs and then connect it all together with jumprings and chain. This bracelet is currently one of the feature articles in Bead Unique Issue 24. The bracelet is a great look and fun to make, what more could you ask for? |
